The registry operator for the .ie ccTLD (IEDR) has informed us of upcoming scheduled maintenance on Tuesday January 11th 2011 from 1800 to 2000
During this period the following services will be offline:
- IEDR website
- Whois
- IEDR control panel
- Registrar API
This means that no new registrations or updates will be possible during this timeframe
Existing .ie domain names should not be impacted.
The .eu domain registry, Eurid, will be conducting scheduled maintenance on their systems tomorrow morning from 0600 CEST. The work is scheduled to be complete by 0800 CEST.
During this period no new registrations or updates will be possible. WHOIS will not be available.
Existing registered .eu domain names will continue to resolve and function.
The IEDR inform us that today's suspension and deletion run has been postponed until Monday at 1200
As the server is off site (in Germany) our engineers are liaising with the third party data center to resolve the issue asap.
No downtime or issues will be incurred to our users by this outage as our nameservers are fully redundant.
As always, we will update this post as soon as more information is available and/or the issue is resolved.
UPDATE 12:05 This issue is now resolved. We're just awaiting a Reason for Outage document from the third party data center.
Eurid are signing their zone tomorrow, so the zone will not be dynamic for about two hours - between 1000 and 1200 UTC.
During this time period there may be some slight delays in DNS updates, though the delay is expected to be negligible.
We are experiencing problems with one of the Name Servers for our legacy shared-hosting services.
These should not be service effecting.
While the Blacknight DNS servers are NOT open to exploit using the "Kaminsky exploit" unfortunately a lot of other DNS servers are.
We will be attempting to contact as many of the affected registrants as possible to warn them of the issue.

There should be no visible downtime during the swap.
